she always said it to the kids alot too

1        There is no logic to it. It demonstrates the the tendency for people to make things up to explain stuff that they don't understand. An oft repeated myth can be mistaken for truth.

How can I tell if I have hemorrhoids or Genital warts (graphic description)?

Posted on August 17, 2010

Ok, first off I am a 22 year old gay man (sexually active but I ALWAYS use protection). So a few days ago I developed a lump around my anus (kind of on the inside, but I can feel it when I wipe - also it is at the top). At first I started freaking out (recently went through and won a battle with cancer - I was afraid it had spread but the blood work for that came back today - and it is still in remission) then slowly I started calming down and researching it. I came to the conclusion that it is either genital warts or hemorrhoids. It is the only lump, and recently it started bleeding (not badly but the toilet paper has small bright red spots on it). It does itch like crazy, and it has been feeling oozy (I am guessing the blood).

Anyway, any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated to put my mind at ease. Also sorry if this was graphic, just wanted to be as complete as possible.

1        You really can’t tell if your lump/bump is hemorrhoids or anal warts.

It is always best to ask a health care associate what this lump/bump is.

A proctologist or a colon rectal doctor can give you more information.

You body’s immune system did take a hit in its fight of your cancer.

Both hemorrhoids and genital warts can bleed. A health immune system can fight HPV…so a check with a colon/rectal or proctologist can lead you to the right treatment plan.

HPV can be transmitted even with consistent use of a condom.

2        I think your correct about it being either warts or piles. The best thing to do is take it to the STD clinic as they will know straight away what it is. Warts can vary a lot in appearance so we can't really tell from your description.

If you are often constpated then it could be piles as they are usually caused by passing very hard poo.

Condoms don't protect against HPV which causes genital warts and anal cancers.

Will i need surgery for hemorrhoids..?

Posted on August 17, 2010

It's not very big. As a matter of fact it's not big at all, but it's still there. Is there any other way that i can get rid of it completely? I dont care how long it takes, i can only realy on the surgery as a very last resort. Thank you.

1        Surgery to take off hemorrhoids is the most painful of all because, although they put anesthesia during the surgery, after when the anesthesia wears off, it would become very painful because of the plenty nerve endings on your anus. If it's not that big then you can still control it. Like avoid getting constipated. As long as there's no blood in your stool, then your hemorrhoids are okay. Just avoid "stressing" it too much.

2        Preparation H.
I had one the size of a melon for two weeks and it finally shrunk.

3       Yes, if you take a sits bath using a hot, i mean a real hot wash cloth and hold it on the area of concern, this will shrink the hemorrhoids. But you must do this daily. Trust me it may feel uncomfortable for while, then results will start to happen. "been there"

i am 37 weeks pregnant, had severe hemorrhoids, should i really consider having a c-section???

Posted on August 17, 2010

2 years ago, i suffered from severe hemmorhoids that i couldnt really move at all. crying every night was my only resort. there were times that even pain killers couldn't take the pain anymore. done the sitz bath, didnt do much. i lost a lot of weight that time coz i got scared to eat and have BM after. Now, i am having it again everytime i poo. i am not constipated, but my hemorrhoids still come out tho. i would stay up all night crying becoz of the severe pain. i asked m OB abt this, she said, i can have c-section since the hemorrhoids will only get worse bcoz of pushing if i have it normal delivery. she said i still have a week to decide. i just wanna enjoy the after birth and take care of my baby very well. with the hemorrhoids, i think that would be really really tough after birth. Any comments, suggestions, insights? THANKS A LOT!!!

1        yes have the c-section, you use the same muscles when you poo as when you deliver naturally, it would be horribly painful during and for a long time after. i never had hemorrhoids before i gave birth and had them after, both of my pregnancies. you could rupture the hemorrhoids you already have or cause more. healing after a c-section will be hard, but you may need to get surgery anyway if you deliver naturally because of complications with the hemorrhoids. sorry your having this problem and having to make such a tough decision. i wish all the best for you and your new baby.

2        i suffered with them severely in my 1st and 2d pregnacy. i think i had about the worst case you can imagine. nothing helped. i had them in my 7th month so bad that the whole month was spent in bed because the pain was so bad. finally in the 8th month the baby began to drop down and they finally went down.several years later they came back and it was terrible. i had surgery to remove them because i was planning another baby and knew i wouldnt be able to tolerate them again!! the surgery was very painful but it was sure worth it. a year later i was pegnant and didnt have the problem at all. i would strongly suggest honey that if you are planning another baby after this one that you get those things taken care of before the next one!! for now keep soaking in hot water. it seems to be the only thing you can do until your baby arrives. please talk to your dr about having them removed in the future if you plan on more kids!! i feel for you. i know exactly what your going through!! the very best to you!! keep soaking!!

3        Yes definitely have a C section all the best.
Edit: My daughter recently had a C section with no pain afterwards just some monor discomfort.

Post partum hemorrhoids…9 weeks after c-section? Is this normal?

Posted on August 17, 2010

I was induced but ended up with a c-section 9 weeks ago and I didn't have to push at all so i don't think these are labor induced hemorrhoids. I am not constipated and my stools aren't even hard. I don't have to strain for them to come out but I have bleeding every time I have a bowel movement and awful unbearable pain during and after the bowel movement for a few hours or more. It hurts so bad to go that I cry. I have no idea what could have caused this but I am worried because the pain is really really bad.
Is this normal post-partum? I have tried Preparation H pads and cream and nothing seems to work. It is also causing me to not be able to pass gas.. its like it wont come out like it's trapped. I will not have insurance for 30 more days so I can't really go to a doctor. I was just wondering if any of you mommies experienced this on this level, if it's normal, and what I can do for it.

1        Straining is just one of the causes of hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids may develop during pregnancy due to the pressure put on the veins in the rectal area. The baby is additional weight and is pressing on the veins. Obesity is another cause of hemorrhoids. Furthermore, if there is a history of hemorrhoids in your family, you may have genetic predisposition to weak veins. Several things are weakening our veins, like acid/alkaline imbalance (body pH), Vitamin B6 deficiency, and weak veins are more prone to develop hemorrhoids. Acid/alkaline imbalance is very common between our western diet. It is not just enough to eat fruits and vegetables, but it is as well important to avoid soda, coffee, black tea and drink a good quality water (with a pH 7.5 or higher) and green tea.
I got hemorrhoids with my first child and continue having them with the other 3. I have tried all kinds of prescription drugs as well as natural treatment options, just to get some short term (always welcome) relief. Then, I found Rue Care Oil, and my troubles were gone. You can get it online.
