What are some “home” remedies for external hemorrhoids?
I have external hemorrhoids and sit at a desk for 6-8 hrs M-F. I am having extreme pain and would like to know some "home" remedies to ease or cure them.
1 Witch Hazel (looks like rubbing alcohol) is great for easing the burn/itch. Getting yourself to the Dr. soon is the best way of healing them though. Don't wait too long, you could get an internal tear from the swelling and that would mean pulling part of your intestines (butthole) out and getting stitches. My hubby went through that and it was not good. He waited too long. Sorry, hope I didn't panic you. Just trying to encourage a Dr. visit. Best wishes and hope you feel better soon.
2 A fiber laxative such as metamucil, and witch hazel are about as good as you are going to get with home remedies....try the preperation H...
But once they get so bad - removal is the only way to deal with them.
3 DFKGLD? What is your problem? Are you desperate for a correct answer. Preparation H is the answer.
Does Anusol treat hemorrhoids or does it just relieve the symptoms?
What I mean is, does it make the hemorrhoids go away or does it just stop the discomfort?
1 stops the discomfort by shrinking them. is this a cure? not really
you have to have soft bowel movements and no more labor pains or straining in order to not have them come back...
2 It does both. There are ingredients to handle both aspects . If you can't be comfortable, it makes the hemorrhoids worse.
3 isn't it AVATROL.....
there is no cure for hemorrhoids..it's in you already...you can go for an operation....and once it come out all you have to do is push them back....make sure your hands are clean and you can ask for an ointment in your doctor....
How hemorrhoids are treated? Any home remedies?
I am being diagnosed with hemorrhoids. My stools are not bloody. But doc says hemorrhoids are present. What should I do to cure them?
Please suggest any diet or any home remedies?
How do they effect general digestion of a person?
1 Hemorrhoids are caused by you straining when you have a bowel movement, or with your stool being too hard & tearing the skin.
Once you have hemorrhoids you have to learn to live with them & change your diet so your stools are softer.
You live with them by keeping your anus clean via wipes like Tucks & creams like Preparation H. This helps them to heal, as long as you don't strain or have a hard stool. You never really get rid of them.
You change your diet by eating MORE fiber - whole grains, fruits, vegetables & LESS processed foods - frozen dinners, packaged desserts, pre-made foods in just about any form.
Hemorrhoids have NOTHING to do with your digestion system.
I suggest you buy a donut pillow to sit on, a cookbook so you can try making a lot more of your own food instead of buying it pre-made & shopping at a farmer's market for fresh food every weekend.
2 Your doctor diagnosed you but didn't recommend a treatment??? Strange.
For relief I suggest using Tuck's pads (or generic product with same ingredients), plus Preparation H (or generic version).
3 OK, simply eat healthy, high fibre foods...DON'T STRAIN!!! If nothing happens, leave it till later. There are plenty of non prescription creams that can ease the itching and the pain, and they are fairly inexpensive. I really feel sorry for you.
How long did it take for your hemorrhoids to go away?
I've never been constipated, or had a previous problem with hemorrhoids. I got two around Thanksgiving, gave birth in January (the 22nd) and they still have not gone away. How long does it take?
1 after i had my twins i suffered hemorrhoids for months (not sure exactly how long but 2-3months), used prep H (pads & creams), suppositories (OUCH!!!), got a prescriptions... i really don't think anything cured them, they finally faded away on their own
2 Oh I feel your pain. I got them during my pregnancy and they went away after awhile. I gave birth on January 27th and still have them too. I hear from others that they may come and go for a long time. Only thing you can do is try preparation H, Tucks pads, and a diet in high fiber so you can pass stool without straining because the more you strain to poo the worse they will be.
3 It depends on the person. If it is causing you pain ask the doctor to prescribe Anusol. This numbs your backside and will result in less pain. You could also try Fybogel which will make your waste more soft and may feel more comfortable coming through.
Do internal hemorrhoids from childbirth go away on their own?
I have painful internal hemorrhoids from having a baby 18 days ago. I've been taking stool softeners for 2 weeks and am beginning to wonder if they're going to go away on their own or if I'm going to have to go into the doctor's office. Does anyone have experience with this?
1 Mine went away on their own. They lasted about a month. It was simply the most awful pain ever. Your stool softner is not making you have diarrea is it? That can make them last longer... I got some preperation H wipes... but my doctor said that if they last a really long time then I would need surgery... But after awhile they did go away. Try drinking lots of water and going when you feel the need (I made it worse by waiting until I no longer could because of the pain)
GL I hope you feel better
2 Mine went away eventually, but it took several months. It still flares up occasionally and my baby is almost 8 months, but nothing like the super painful ones that I had before. Here is what I did to get rid of them: First rule is do not ever strain or even push when having a bowel movement. You basically need to make your poop just the right consistency so that it is soft enough to just slide out on its own, but isn't too loose either because diarrhea also makes you strain. Eat foods high in fiber, take a fiber supplement, and drink metamucil and prune juice. Then after every bowel movement follow immediately with a tucks pad and prep h cream which helps shrink the swollen hemorrhoid. Eventually it should get better...
3 The best treatment for hemorrhoids is the hottest water you can stand, in the shower, keep the shower hose hot water on the area for several minutes when you take a shower, maybe more than once a day. Then put Vicks Vapo Rub on the area. Trust me on this one, nobody will say try this method but it works. guaranteed. All those other products are a waste of money. Also you need to eat plenty of fiber, such as All bran cereal daily and plenty of water also.
4 Mine haven't, and I gave birth a year ago via emergency c-section. Did not push for even one second...my hemorrhoids developed during pregnancy. They come and go...flare ups seems to happen most often around the time of my period, but not always. I try to stay off my butt as much as possible when I'm having a flare-up: pressure on the area only makes them worse. If they're really painful even months from now, you might need surgery to get rid of them. Good luck.
5 I still have them(externally as well) and I am 7 months post-partum. I put witch hazel on them to relieve the burning and itching..If they are not gone by March-I will go to the doctor. I know it takes a womans body time to heal-thats the only reason I've waited this long..But it's painful!
