Are hemorrhoids normal or dangerous during pregnancy?
I think thats what i have... i bleed bright red blood when i do a bowl movement...?????
1 Hemorrhoids happen to almost every pregnant woman, some worse than others. Unless they are really painful I woudn't worry about it, you should tell your doctor though.
2 Hemorrhoids are normal during pregnancy, caused by the pressure of the fetus on the abdomen. If they start to hurt or itch really bad, it could present a problem. It is always best to talk to your doctor about medical conditions. For temporary relief try tub baths several times a day in plain, warm water for about 10 minutes or application of a hemorrhoidal cream or suppository to the affected area for a limited time. But again, talk to your doctor for medical advise
3 Any time you have blood IN your bowels, you should see a Doctor ASAP. If the blood is when you wipe, it may just be a hemorrhoid. They are somewhat common during pregnancy as well as from a tough delivery.
Try using a hemorrhoid pad for a day and see if you get relief. That should help you tell if it is indeed a hemorrhoid.
Do tell your OBGYN on your next visit so they can check it out. A little assurance from them will help lower your stress.
4 it's normal for most women, because pregnancy can really mess you up. a good diet is important, but not always practical. i would let your doc know about it, that way when the time comes to deliver, they are aware of it. the truth about it, is that if you deliver vaginally, they could get worse, because they tell you to push like you are pooping, and that's exactly what you have to do.
the plus side to it, is that you can have the removed. i had the surgery last january. i must admit, it's a painful procedure, but totally worth it. good luck!
