Pregnant and having hemorrhoids?

Posted on April 30, 2010

I am 20 weeks pregnant, Is there any safe things i can do to get rid of hemorrhoids i know a high fiber which i have started but anything in my home that is safe like a home remedy, i think i have an internal hemorrhoid because i went to the bathroom to take a bowel movement and i bleed bright red. So i really need some remedys or something. thanks. i got hemorrhoid wipes with witch hazel that the doc said was ok but will that really help?

1        Good to hear you have already increased your fiber intake. A few more things you can do to aid in curing your hemorrhoid include:
• Try to maintain high hydration levels – drink lots of water
• Avoid lifting heavy weights
• Avoid constipation by eating foods which are high in fiber (vegetables and cereals are great sources of fiber). As you increase you intake of fiber it is important to increase you fluid intake proportionally.
• Exercise daily. Even if you don’t have time to do a lot of exercise – a 20 minute walk can do wonders for your body as well as helping to keep bowel movements regular.
• Avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time, take short walks from time to time where possible. Try to lye on your side where possible to reduce pressure.
You can relieve pain by soaking in the bath 3 times daily and also by applying ice to the area.

Natural remedies are definitely a great way to cure hemorrhoids. I personally used these and they helped me a lot.

A couple of home remedies include:
One trick which works well to relieve the itching and burning sensation caused by hemorrhoids is to apply a small amount of vinegar to the hemorrhoid. Apart from reducing the itching of the hemorrhoid, the vinegar will also work to bring down the swelling of the hemorrhoid.

Another form of natural hemorrhoid relief is to apply the Aloe Vera to the hemorrhoid. This can be done by cutting an Aloe Vera leaf open and gently rubbing the Aloe Vera gel onto the hemorrhoid. Doing this helps to minimize swelling.

I have provided a link below to a page all about Home Hemorrhoid Cures – I think you may find it useful.

30 weeks pregnant. Due to have hemorrhoids banded due to excessive rectal bleeding.?

Posted on April 29, 2010

has anyone else ever had this procedure done while this far in pregnancy? Please share your experiences as im very nervous.

1        I havent had it done, but it was an option if mine got any worse with my first.

Its not painful, and the healing time is minimal. You're back to normal in no time. It really is like going in and having a pap or internal exam- not much discomfort and you dont walk away in pain. Your bum might be a little sore depending on the placement of the actual bulbs to be banded, but nothing that will effect your pregnancy.

Trust me, you're going to feel SO much better when its over!

The difference between anal warts and hemorrhoids? or are they the same thing

1     which one do you have?

2     Warts are just that, Hemorrhoids are the out pouching of varicose veins inside your anus. They can vary in size and whether they are internal or external. They are caused by straining to have a bowel movement, women get them during pregnancy because of the increased blood volume and weight from the pregnancy. They can be painful and there is medication to help with shrinking them. You can also have surgical removal is they are chronic and cause you problems.

For hemorrhoids, is blood only around the stool or can it be in it too?

For hemorrhoids, is blood only around the stool or can it be in it too?

1       Blood in the stool can be bright red, maroon in color, black and tarry, or occult (not visible to the naked eye). Causes of blood in stool range from harmless, annoying conditions of the gastrointestinal tract such as hemorrhoids to serious conditions such as cancer. Blood in the stool should be evaluated by a healthcare professional, if its in the stool see a doctor if its not see my blog.
Don't take this sitting down,

2      You should check out the link below. It's according to what you mean, in the stool. If there is blood inside the stool itself (did you break it apart?), you may have a more serious problem. If your seeing blood around the stool and when you wipe, it's just hemorrhoids. There are over-the-counter medications that you can get to relieve the symptoms. The problem should clear up in a few days. If it doesn't clear up after about a week, save yourself the headache and go see a doctor.

Please don't take any advise on Yahoo Answers as a substitute for seeing a doctor. If your worried and aren't 100% sure about your condition, go see a doctor anyway.

3      Hemorrhoids can cause blood in the stool, around it, on your toilet paper, in your toilet bowl or on your underwear. Blood from hemorrhoids will generally be bright red as it's from a pretty close and superficial wound.

That being said, any blood from your rectum calls for a doctor's visit, just to rule out any other problems. There are a number of dangerous issues that can cause blood to come from your anus, and it's better to be safe than sorry.
